Titus 1:15 Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.
To me, this could mean that everything unbelievers do is tainted by their sinful intentions, or that because they're separate from God their actions are also separate and therefore unable to be pure.
This question is from a previous chapter that no one has been able to answer. Rather than glossing over a verse that may be difficult and cherry picking the ones that people like, I wanted to ask one more time if anyone can explain what appears to be conflicting versus.
All these translations (NIV, Greek to English Interlinear, KJV, Modern Language, Living and Revised Standard) say the same in I Thes 4:16-17, that at the return of Christ he will bring with him those who are asleep.
14) We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
However in verse 16: "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ (asleep) will rise first."
I don't know how to ask it any simpler, sorry. But here we have those coming with the Lord and those raised to meet him. Are these two different groups of believers? It does say that both groups are asleep in the Lord.
If no one can explain I guess I'll just focus on the easy and popular versus on this forum.
The Power of 3 is now offering a small group companion class each Wednesday at the Alameda Campus. This “group huddle” offers: · Casual atmosphere with coffee and refreshments. · Group interaction and an opportunity to share and grow from what others have learned through the reading plan that week. · In-depth teaching from Pastor Roncone on one of the passages contained in that week’s reading plan.
This is a wonderful opportunity to harness the power of good planning, group interaction and personal accountability in bringing life-giving habits to your spiritual growth. It all starts January 6, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Aurora First.
